Keep fine details easier to follow

MagGlass is preparing a more stable camera experience for close-up viewing, with smoother zoom and thoughtful image enhancement that can help reduce distracting movement and bring out useful detail.

  • Image stabilization helps calm the live view while you position your phone.
  • Gentle noise reduction and sharpening improve captured images without overwhelming the detail.
  • Microscope Mode slows zoom movement and adds an alignment guide for very small subjects.
  • Every new camera control has a clear accessibility label and spoken confirmation.

Coming in the next MagGlass update for iPhone. Capabilities vary by camera and device.

Much more than a magnifier

A basic magnifier makes things bigger. MagGlass helps you understand them.

Built-in magnifiers are useful for zooming. MagGlass goes further when magnification alone is not enough.

Who is MagGlass designed for?

MagGlass is designed for people with low vision, including people living with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts or retinitis pigmentosa. It can also help seniors and anyone who finds small print difficult.

How is MagGlass different from my phone’s magnifier?

MagGlass combines magnification with spoken text reading, product identification, voice commands and an accessibility-first interface. It helps when making text larger is not enough.

Does MagGlass replace professional low-vision care?

No. MagGlass is an everyday assistance tool, not a medical device or a substitute for advice from an eye-care or low-vision professional.

Does MagGlass upload camera images?

No. Camera images and visible-text recognition are processed on the device. Shopping Mode sends only a detected barcode to request available product information.
